This was a complete miss and frankly, I don't know if I'll be back anytime soon. I'm not a wine or food snob, but I do expect food and service done correctly. I dine out virtually every night and also dine at the fine establishments in downtown Chicago. In fact, there are several more casual restaurants in the area where I have never had a miss as described above. As another reviewing pointed out, they have some serious long-standing competition in the area, all of which I routinely patronize, and Eddie is asleep at the wheel. I had high hopes for this midwestern-based firm, but I think they've strayed too far from home. We welcome you to Eddie Merlot'swe want you, our guest, to have nothing but the best, which is why we go to such lengths to serve you the exceptional prime-aged steaks upon which our restaurant has built its reputation. Then neither of the bartenders took responsibility for my service, so it was like I was waited on twice totally annoying. For a place of this caliber, this is an automatic fail. Then they didn't give me a setup (silverware/napkin) so when my food came, I could not eat. I didn't order a drink right away, and then the two bartenders forgot about me I had to flag them down to order. First off, the bar area was freezing (second time experienced). Everyone has a bad day now and then, so I recently returned. So after 2 done incorrectly, I hit to the door. Indiana-based steakhouse chain Eddie Merlot’s which was eyeing a Seaport location way back in 2013 that didn’t come to fruition plans to move into the sprawling space at 505 Congress St. I can't image how the folks in the dining room were fairing with their cuts. Mind you, this is a high end steakhouse where steaks cost upwards of $90. They opted to replace it, and the second one came out rare again. The second to last visit I was hankering for that burger again. The burger was the best in recent memory, and on a return visit the ahi tacos were a food experience. I only eat at the bar and the presentation and service were great. My first visit to this new entrant to the Denver market was excellent.
